Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Couples Therapist to join Family TLC as an Independent Contractor at our Barrie office. In this role, you will provide in-person therapy to couples, helping them navigate challenges such as communication breakdowns, emotional disconnection, and conflict resolution. As an independent contractor, you will enjoy a flexible schedule and a consistent client base, with support from our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-person therapy to couples using models such as Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Imago Relationship Therapy
  • Help couples develop better communication, rebuild trust, and foster emotional connection
  • Create individualized treatment plans following the Family TLC Method
  • Maintain confidential client records and ensure high standards of care
  • Participate in professional development and collaborate with the Family TLC team
  • Operate independently, managing your own schedule and client caseload

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology, or a related field
  • Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
  • Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or other relationship therapy models is highly preferred
  • Proven experience in providing couples therapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team environment at our Barrie office
