Grief & Loss Counselling

suffering from loss

It is painful when you lose someone or something you love, or experience any kind of loss in your life. It is normal to experience all kinds of difficult and surprising emotions such as shock, anger and guilt after a significant loss.

Everyone grieves differently. There are many healthy ways to deal with the pain. There is no right or wrong way to grieve when dealing with loss.

From a family member to the family pet or going through a divorce or separation, the more significant the loss is, the more intense the grief may be.

Family TLC has grief therapists who can help you with grief and loss and help provide an avenue for a healthy resolution through this difficult time.

Bereavement

loss therapy

Suffering from the loss of a loved one can be one of the most painful things we ever experience. When a death takes place, you may experience a wide range of emotions. The following feelings are normal and common reactions to a loss:

  • Guilt
  • Denial
  • Disbelief
  • Shock
  • Confusion
  • Sadness
  • Anger
  • Humiliation
  • Despair

These emotions are healthy and appropriate and will help you come to terms with your loss. The danger in just plugging along day to day is that it can unfortunately turn into unresolved grief which only leads to further problems. At Family TLC we offer support and understanding to help you get through this experience. You are not alone and we are here to help.

Loss

Loss can come in many forms such as: loss of a pet, moving, loss of a job, divorce, loss of capacity (injury, illness). Sometimes life sucks. The feelings you have are your feelings – they are normal and are an essential part of the healing process. Some of these may be shock, sadness, anger, guilt, depression and despair, as well as relief, hope and acceptance.

Family TLC is a group of therapists that specialize in loss. Call for your free consultation with our Group Leader so that your loss can be matched with the appropriate counsellor that best meets your needs.
