Sarah is a student completing a Master of Counselling degree at City University. She is registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Previously, Sarah completed an Honours Bachelor of Counselling Psychology degree and a General Arts and Science Liberal Studies diploma from Georgian College. During her undergraduate thesis, she researched how mindfulness and self-compassion can impact public safety personnel, especially as it pertains to post-traumatic stress within policing in Canada. Next, Sarah will be researching how nature-based mindfulness interventions impact neurodivergent adolescents for her graduate degree capstone. Sarah also is a Mindfulness Ambassador Program Facilitator and Mindful@Work certified through The Global Minds Collective.

Sarah has experience working with survivors of abuse, adults and adolescents, and individuals identifying as 2SLGBTQIA+.  She also has worked with a range of mental health disorders such as depression, addiction, anxiety, and issues related to grief and loss. Sarah practises humanistic, biopsychosocial interventions using modalities such as cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) and solution-focused, paired with person-centered, narrative, and mindfulness approaches. Sarah is willing to offer compassion, understanding, and strategies tailored to each client. Guided by a strengths-based approach, she believes you have the power and abilities to achieve your goals and overcome obstacles – you are the expert and author of your story.

During her personal time, Sarah is also a level three Reiki practitioner and enjoys traditional forms of healing. She loves spending time with her family and animal children, adores nearly all music genres, going to concerts, trying new recipes and restaurants, getting lost in a great book, and walking her pup.
